Engagement Program

It's never too late to start fencing! Axis offers the opportunity for adults to learn basic fencing and combat techniques while gaining strategic fencing knowledge.

Beginner Class

Beginner class is for fencers who have no prior fencing experience or knowledge, with the youngest being 7 years old. Its main targets is to spark the interest and begin to lay the foundations of fencing knowledge. Through a combination of fun activities and physical fitness, fencers are able to acquire basic sabre knowledge including combat skills, action and tactics, coordination, footwork, and coherence to lay a stable foundation for future training.

Intermediate class

Intermediate class targets fencers with some degree of basic sabre knowledge and physical abilities. Through the further understanding of sabre, fencers can independently determine the rules and regulations of fencing, while gaining practical experience.

Competitive class

Competitive class contains fencers with strong physical abilities and a high level of tactically knowledge. Most members are fencers of the national teams, with competition experience in North American and international competitions.

Combat Class

Combat Class teaches fencers conditional combat and scoring combat. Through establishing certain conditions, conditional combats train the abilities to adapt and implement tactical skills in different fencing scenarios, improving the fencers’ application of knowledge in combat. Scoring combats train the fencers perception and understanding of sabre competition scoring and the allocation and application of tactics.  Combat is the combination of physical fitness, and only through constant combat can fencers apply their skills learned in class to exercise speed, domination, field control, and improve their mental and physical abilities.
